Apostille

An apostille is a form of certification that confirms the legal validity of a document in a manner recognised internationally. This certification carries legal force when documents are presented in countries that acknowledge the apostille.

In the Republic of Azerbaijan, competent authorities issue an apostille for documents intended for use in countries that are signatories to the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Hague Convention). Documents originating from Hague Convention member states may be apostilled, whereas those from non-member countries must undergo full legalisation.

An apostille eliminates the need for any further certification or additional legalisation and is accepted by the official authorities of all states that have ratified the Convention.

At our Centre, we provide apostille services for the following document types:

  1. Apostille affixed to the original document
  2. Apostille affixed to a copyof the document
  3. Apostille affixed to a translated document
